Airport taxes

The airport tax or Unified Fee for Airport Use (TUUA for its acronym in Spanish) is related to the different services provided by the LAP for passengers using the Jorge Chavez International Airport facilities during the dispatch of passengers, baggage, cargo, and mail.

According to OSITRAN (Directive Council Resolution N. 011-2008-CD-OSITRAN and File N. 813-08-GS-OSITRAN), it should be noted that a reuse of the TUUA (rehabilitation) will be allowed in the following instances:

  1.  Flight delay or cancellations due to the Foreign Object Damage (FOD) at the Jorge Chavez International Airport. 

  2. Flight delay or cancellation due to Wildlife or Aviary Danger at the Jorge Chavez International Airport.

  3. Bomb alerts at the Jorge Chavez International Airport.

  4. If the destination airport is shut down. 

  5. If the passenger is determined to be in poor health, which must be determined exclusively by the Cardio Mobile doctor at the airport, the Airport Doctors at the International Area, or by the flight Captain's decision.

  6. Detention or determining delay caused by problems of homonymy generated by the immigration authorities.

  7. Delay or cancelation of a flight due to proven meteorological conditions. 

  8. Delay or cancelation of a flight due to the emission of a NOTAM form by the General Directorate for Civil Aviation (DGAC).

  9. Delay or cancelation of flight due to damages on the Jorge Chavez Airport runway.

  10. Cases of passengers suspected of illegal drug trafficking by ingestions, who are intervened and transferred to an area outside the Jorge Chavez International Airport restricted zone, and then cleared of suspicion, in which case the passenger may proceed with their boarding which was interrupted by actions that are not their responsibility (valid cause since 02.01.2009).

  • If the passenger leaves the restricted zone at the Jorge Chavez International Airport, they must pay the airport tax (TUUA) for reentry, except in cases of TUUA revalidation.
