Lima Airport Partners (LAP), Jorge Chavez International Airport operator, obtained the IX Socially Responsible Company Award (ESR for It Spanish acronym) granted by the organization Peru 2021. It is recognition of the commitment to implement and promote good practices, contributing to a sustainable management. It should be noted, this achievement has a main goal to strengthen the culture of Corporate Social Responsibility in large, medium and small companies and contributes to the sustainable development of their business to enhance their positive impact on society.
"In LAP we are committed to the sustainable development, through good and responsible practices aimed at achieving the high standards in our management. Today more than ever, taking account the sanitary crisis in the country, we have been working steadily on the implementation of prevention and safety measures, with the aim of safeguarding the health of our coworkers. Likewise, we have made also humanitarian aid for the vulnerable community in the country in their fight against this pandemic", said Julissa Salavarría, Manager of the Systems Management at LAP.
Peru 2021 recognized 67 companies from different economic sectors, who obtained the best scores in good practices. Among the criteria evaluated, LAP stood out for its performance on the following items: Ethics and integrity, Good corporate governance, Labor practices and decent work, Human capital development, Local communities, Collaboration and alliances and Sectorial.
It should be noted that the measurement indicators of this IX edition of DESR®️ were focused on the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), to guide the actions of companies towards their achievement. The criteria of this edition were established through four evaluation axes: organizational strategy, values and organizational culture, development of the environment related to the responsible value chain and risk and impact management.
Finally, for the promoters of this IX edition, the ESR®️ Badge seeks to be more than just recognition. It aims to become a management tool that allows companies to drive continuous improvement towards a sustainable management. For that reason, the organizing institution called on the business leaders to be agents of change in the construction of a sustainable Peru, knowing the multiple challenges that we have as a country, especially during the conjuncture that we have to live due to the spread of the COVID-19.
