Press Statement: Suspension of annual runway maintenance on Jorge Chavez

Callao, Friday 27 March 2020

In relation to the annual maintenance works that were being carried out on the runway of the Jorge Chavez International Airport, Lima Airport Partners (LAP) reports the following:

- The maintenance works on the runway, that started on January 21 of this year, have been suspended until the quarantine period ends. This measure is carried out in strict compliance with the actions ordered by the Peruvian Government.

- Therefore, due to the emergency situation, the completion of the maintenance works will be after the date originally contemplated (July 1, 2020). Lima Airport Partners will promptly communicate to the entire airport community the rescheduling of maintenance.

- Finally, it is important to highlight that the runway is operational and will function without any problem when the Peruvian Government authorizes the restart of operations at the airport.

In this delicate moment that we are facing as a country, its when the support and understanding of all the people who make up the Jorge Chavez International Airport community is most needed. We are sure that together we will be able to stop COVID-19 in Peru and we will resume our airport activities as normal.
