Jorge Chávez International Airport reaches 23 million passengers by the end of 2019

Callao, Perú, Monday 23 December 2019

​​In the midst of a surprise celebration, passenger number 23 million was received and awarded by LAP and Latam Airlines with a double ticket to Montego Bay, Jamaica.

"This is an achievement that not only highlights the growth of the commercial aviation activity, but also recognizes the work team at the airport for their efforts in offering more destinations for Jorge Chavez's passengers, which now total 50 international and 19 national destinations," said Paola Loayza, Manager of Aviation Services of​ LAP.

On the other hand, Antonio Olórtegui, Central Manager of Corporate Affairs, Legal & Compliance of Latam Airlines mentioned that "We are very happy that the Lima hub has been able to reach this impressive number of passengers, this is due to the joint effort -between LAP and the airlines- of the transportation and tourism authorities".

Finally, it is worth mentioning that this month work began on Package 1 of the Expansion Project, which consists of land movement, clean-up activities, clearing, remediation, demolition, and carrying of loan material, among others; with an investment of US$ 60 million.
