Lima Airport Partners is pleased to announce that, in collaboration with CAPIA and LatAm Logistic Properties, it is launching a new, innovative, environment-friendly logistics park in Callao, expected to open in late 2021.
By the third quarter of 2021, the Parque Logístico Callao project will be launched and developed as part of the expansion of Jorge Chavez International Airport. The logistics park will develop a modern industrial infrastructure offering warehouses to rent designed specifically for export and import operations of goods, in a safe environment built under eco-friendly certifications.
This project will have an estimated investment of over USD 53 million, in charge of the consortium Parque Logístico Callao S.R.L. formed by CAPIA and LATAM LOGISTICS PROPERTIES, and phased out in in five (05) development stages.
“The Parque Logístico Callao will meet the logistic needs of all those companies involved in imports and exports at Jorge Chavez Airport, and it’s our first project milestone as part of our vision for South America’s first airport city, reported Arturo Vera, head of Real Estate Manager of Lima Airport Partners. Lima Airport Partners is a Fraport-subsidiary and Lima airport’s operator since 2001.
"This project will cover approximately 50% of over 211,000 sqm of the useful area of land. Five logistical buildings will be constructed and designed to warehouse all kinds of goods, except for those which may affect the safety and the environment. The warehouses will have a clearance height over the shoulder of 12 meters, slabs with capacity of 7 tons per sqm, loading docks every 500 sqm, large maneuvering yards exceeding 56 meters wide", said Alvaro Chinchayán, Country Manager of LatAm Logistic Properties (LLP).
It will have an AAA standard, Ee-commerce, uninterrupted operations and 24/365 monitoring. A central monitoring station including CCTV system, perimeter fence, access control, NFPA fire protection system with ESFR sprinklers and fire detection and alarm system, etc. In addition, it will have a wastewater treatment plant.
“The Parque Logístico Callao will respond to the expected growth of the airport and Callao, for the next 30 years. It should be noted that this infrastructure will generate greater efficiency in handling products at the lowest possible cost, due to its strategic location (within the city), the first-level technology to be used in its design and the construction of its warehouses", added Gabriela Barreto, partner of CAPIA.
Moreover, the project will also have an EDGE environmental certification granted by the IFC (World Bank entity), which supports sustainable and friendly practices to environment and communities. It will ensure saving of water and energy of user companies, as well as the use of materials that generate low carbon footprint.
Finally, it should be noted that the Parque Logístico Callao, will be not only the first containing the mentioned features in the region of El Callao, but will also be in the same position as other similar logistic infrastructures built at the most important airports in South America, such as: Sao Paulo, Bogota and Santiago.
